Basic Fire Safety Training Courses in CornwallIt is a legal requirement that all staff should be trained in General Fire Safety. Employers must ensure that all employees are provided with adequate safety training at the time they are first employed and repeated yearly.

Training should include suitable and sufficient instruction and training on the appropriate precautions and actions to be taken by the employee in order to safeguard himself and other relevant  persons on the premises. (Taken from the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005).

Basic Fire Safety

Basic Fire Safety Training Courses in CornwallCourse Aim
To provide basic knowledge of staffs action in case of fire.

Who should attend?
All staff, whether employed or voluntary; temporary, seasonal or permanent.

Course Contents Include:

  • Explanation on how fire starts, develops and travels
  • Staffs emergency response and evacuation procedures
  • Premises fire safety features
  • Explanation of fire extinguisher types, their uses and limitations

Assessment:
Duration 1 hour
Delegates up to a preferred maximum of 12

Workplace Fire Safety Training including the use of Fire Extinguishers

To build knowledge on the nature and causes of fire. Obtain basic skills on procedures to adopt in the event of a fire. Provide the basic knowledge, confidence and skills for a variety of fire extinguishers to be successfully employed.

Who should attend?
A wide variety of persons in the working environment.

Course Content Includes:

  • Explanation on how fire starts, develops and travels
  • Staffs emergency response and evacuation procedures
  • Premises fire safety features
  • Explanation of fire extinguisher types, their uses and limitations
  • Practical Fire Extinguisher use

Assessment:
Duration 1 ½ – 2 hours

Fire Warden

Fire Warden Courses in CornwallCourse Aim
To give personnel a clear understanding of the duties of a Fire Warden and to allow them to effectively fulfil such a role.

Who should attend?
Members of staff who are or are to be designated Fire Wardens within an organisation, or those who have a specific responsibility in the event of a fire occurring.

Course Content Includes:

    • Fire awareness
    • How to carry out specific duties allocated
    • The raising of awareness in others
    • Fire Safety within your company
    • The dangers of smoke and smoke travel
    • What is fire, how it spreads and how it is extinguished
    • Types of fire-fighting equipment available
    • Use of fire-fighting equipment
    • Legal responsibilities, means of escape, fire alarms, emergency lighting, keeping records

Assessment:
Duration 11/2 – 2 hours
Delegates up to a preferred maximum of 12

VICTORIA OFFICES - TRAINING FACILITIES

At our Victoria Offices we have facilities to provide all of our training and seminar activities, including live fire training, on a single site in the geographic centre of Cornwall, with easy access straight off the A30.

Room hire costs are in addition to our training fees and include complimentary tea & coffee. For courses up to 20 people the cost is £75 per half day (2 courses) or £100 per day (4 courses).

The largest room can accommodate up to 100 in theatre style for seminars. We also have access to smaller rooms which can be used as breakout space. We have a range of catering options for training days and seminars from a simple refreshment bar or finger buffet to a full banquet.
